FattyBoomBasstic play Moles 29th August 2007

Fattyboombasstic at Moles, BathWell we did it – we played Moles as a main act! Our posters are all over town and scarily there is a Moles poster showing the details of the  bands that are playing that month and there is a very large blow up of my face advertising the FBB gig! Ha ha (really must get one of those posters to keep)

Arrived at 7pm for  the soundcheck to find just us and Trev there. Trev saw our set had 18 songs and warned we were only supposed to play an hour – an hour 15 mins max. So some judicious chopping of songs happened in the pub later! We ran “Filthysomething” (cos Pete had forgotten it) and “Get the Funk Out” (which I was nervous about singing). But we got through it so it stayed in the set for later. We were also told we weren’t on till 11pm – which was a bit of a shock as we had told people we’d be on at 9.30 -10pm. Ooops! I’m Addicted to WordPress

Well I’m addicted. This WordPress thing is Brilliant!! Why haven’t I discovered it sooner?? I had just started getting into blogging with Blogger (as it was free with my Google account – and I wanted to see what functionality you actually get and whether it could be used to build a quick CMS for a client – see my first attempt at http://funkybathmama.blogspot.com

Then I hear about WordPress and I’m immediately hooked! Love the fact that it self installs on your server with no fiddly set up. Love the fact that you are inc ontrol of the php and css directly so you can make up your own theme as you go along. LOVE the rich text editor!

Things I do want to find out more about are:

1) Why my sitemap and archives links don’t seem to work

2) Can you customise the admin pages? – not very good if your going to give this to a client and you don’t want em to know its wordpress

3) I want to get a mail form submission to work on these One and One servers – I think you have to use something called FormMail.pl (???)

4) I’ve got rid of the ugly text based blog title in the h1 tags and used graphic text as a header – but this is going to be an SEO nightmare – how can I combine the two? (I know this isn’t strictly WordPress but it would be good to know)
